“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.”
1 Timothy 4:12
At Memorial, we recognize that families and youth are essential to God’s Kingdom. Youth play a vital role in the church of today! They are capable of being disciples and leading others, but they need the guidance and mentoring of parents and other adults. We partner with parents in the disciple-making process of their youth. It is our hope to empower, equip, and encourage both parents and youth in their lives of discipleship. We do this through teaching, fellowship, mentoring, worship, and celebration.
There are several weekly activities that strive to encourage this all-important task of discipling youth.
There are also a number of events throughout the year that work towards this same goal.
Jr. High & High School Youth
Sunday Mornings: We meet at 10:30 am in Rooms 201 & 202 while our Youth Room is in the construction zone with the addition of the preschool rooms nearby.
Confirmation is a specific rite of passage in the Lutheran Church where students will study the basics of the Christian faith using the Bible and Luther’s Small Catechism for instruction. This in-depth study connects students with the life and community of the Christian church and equips them to follow Jesus.

Parents
The scriptures inform us that you’re the primary spiritual caretakers of your children. This is backed up by statistics and research that points to you being the most influential people in the lives of your children. We can’t do youth ministry without you and we wouldn’t want to anyway! We strive to partner with you as parents to help your child grow closer to Jesus all the while navigating these tumultuous, teenage years.
If you have any questions, please contact Nathan Engman, Director of Discipleship & Youth.
