Women in Mission

The Women in Mission is Memorial’s branch of the LWML – Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, Missouri Synod Lutheran Church. Our purpose is mission and service locally, nationally, and abroad. We generally meet once a month after worship service in coordination with a Community Hour fellowship time.

What we do:

Some of our regular mission/service projects include:

  • Making banners for the confirmands
  • Monthly prayer ministry – sending cards to shut-ins and postcards to congregation members
  • Lutheran World Relief Quilts
  • Volunteering with Christ Clinic
  • Collection of Mites [more info]
  • Christmas Wishing Tree
  • Katy Christian Ministries support
  • Funeral meals for congregational families
  • Financial support for ministerial or other church work students in our congregation
  • Hosting receptions for various occasions such as welcoming new members and confirmands.

We are a part of a few larger communities:

  • Lutheran Women Missionary League (LWML)
  • Golden Harvest Zone
  • Texas District of the LCMS
