The Women in Mission is Memorial’s branch of the LWML – Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, Missouri Synod Lutheran Church. Our purpose is mission and service locally, nationally, and abroad. We generally meet once a month after worship service in coordination with a Community Hour fellowship time.
What we do:
Some of our regular mission/service projects include:
- Making banners for the confirmands
- Monthly prayer ministry – sending cards to shut-ins and postcards to congregation members
- Lutheran World Relief Quilts
- Volunteering with Christ Clinic
- Collection of Mites [more info]
- Christmas Wishing Tree
- Katy Christian Ministries support
- Funeral meals for congregational families
- Financial support for ministerial or other church work students in our congregation
- Hosting receptions for various occasions such as welcoming new members and confirmands.
We are a part of a few larger communities:
- Lutheran Women Missionary League (LWML)
- Golden Harvest Zone
- Texas District of the LCMS
